Storyline
Agent Jackie is hired to find World War II Nazi gold hidden in the Sahara desert. He teams up with three bungling women (the three stooges?) who are all connected in some way. However, a team of mercenries have ideas on the ownership of the gold. A battle and chase ensues as to who gets there first. Lots of choregraphed Kung Fu and quirky Chan humor.

“Armor of God 2” in Jackie's work is a fusion of his youth and experience. He is not yet tired of endless brain-breaking adventures, but in the production already feels a certain gloss, maturity, ease and other, worked “golden” 80's qualities.

It seems that in the early 90's Jackie has finally mastered in the movie space. Times of search passed now he has accurately defined his path and clearly follows it, remaining himself, creating as a master, not as an amateur, and certainly not as an imitator.

“Armor of God 2” is one of those films that sums up the most successful period in Jackie's career, which began with his first independent ambitious project ‘A’. A number of hurricane comedies were later replaced in his work by projects of more serious themes, and as it usually happens after new turns in development, Chan's work certainly lost something. Something directly “Jackichanovsky”.

But while it was 1991, and Jackie offered fans another of his specialties, with a recognizable style and proven quality. The movie turned out to be both quite fresh and similar to its predecessors. Just as the Mitsubishi company constantly produces new SUVs, so that Jackie could freely smash them on the set, Chan himself stamped masterpieces, which one by one smashed sour Chinese, and then all other international faces. The second part of the “armor” kept the best - the traditions established by the works of the past years and at the same time added weight, gained new ideas, hot Chan's inventions (one wind tunnel is worth what it is).

The movie became another height in the development of the chosen direction. As before, Jackie again demonstrated the high level of directing, set by him in the early 80's, managing to reveal the talents of the actors involved, seemingly not quite known at the time. Hand-to-hand fights - one of the main ornaments of Jackie's movies - here take on more of a decorative character. The main purpose of their use - to show not the confrontation of dexterity and muscle (which is a lot in earlier works), but just to amuse the viewer. And then, the fights here are an inexhaustible storehouse of jokes and tricks. And as usual, the concentration of action and humor in the film is the highest, from each episode Jackie squeezes the maximum. A smile does not leave the lips of a sane viewer during almost the whole action, and scenes like a watering hole, arranged by the main character in the desert, are remembered even after many years, causing an attack of the sweetest joyful emotion.

Relative to the first part, with which the second part has a doubtful connection in the form of two characters with the same names, the sequel turned out to be less serious and dynamic, but more fun. And if the first part was quite pulling on the title of adventure action movie, then “Operation Condor” is more like a pure comedy, where the idea of treasure hunting is purely in the background. That's why both movies are great, but it's better to watch them each under your own mood. If you want to laugh enough, then “Operation Condor” is one of the best options to raise your spirits not only among the Chanovski movies, but in principle in the whole comedy genre as a whole. Because, in my opinion, even against the background of such bison as “Taxi” or “Gentlemen of Fortune”, “Armor of God 2” looks quite worthy.
