Let's start with the main differences in the plot, because if we don't delve too deeply, what we have here is almost a frame-by-frame remake, so the only surprises are minor changes. Let's not hide the fact that we don't see the elephant in the room; in our case, we don't see Gant in the film. For some reason, he was completely cut out of the film, but at the same time, there are a lot of hints about him, such as the red patrol cruiser and the fact that the head of the council ultimately sends his agent after Jamba and Plicky's failure (but in the end, he is never shown). Now, in his place as the main villain, we have Jamba, which is not a bad idea; in general, it is even more believable that an evil scientist remains an evil scientist. Another important plot innovation is that aliens can disguise themselves as humans. This is not bad overall, considering that they still operate secretly. They changed Cobra Bubbles' backstory; now he wasn't with Roswell, and he's meeting aliens for the first time. Overall, it's logical, considering that the action of the cartoon has been moved to the present day, and an agent who is too old wouldn't be so cool. The ending has also been reworked, and it's not bad in terms of logic, and is more suited to modern times and customs.
As for the actors, maybe it's because of the dubbing, but Lilo wasn't as annoying as she was in the trailers, although the girl's performance is still rather weak, but acceptable for a children's film. There's not much to say about the adult actors either; the human incarnations of Jumba and Pliky successfully convey the emotions of the animated characters. It's nice that they also paid tribute to almost all the main actors from the original cartoon, and this time they either play the same role, or other characters due to their age, or completely new characters.
And, of course, the main culprit, the star of Disney celebrations around the world, is Stitch himself. He is very cute and playful and has made a great transition from the 2D version to full 3D. The same goes for the other aliens; they look pretty good. It is clear that the graphics stand out, but the overall style of the film, a light-hearted children's adventure, works so well that you don't even notice them, even though they all look worse than Stitch, but at least you can understand that they all have very little screen time. There's not much to say about the technical side of things; the film often repeats frames from the cartoon, and the music, except for one hit, is literally the same.
The bottom line is that this is a huge success for Disney, which will recoup all its failures with Snow White at the beginning of the year with this film. For children, it will be a great opportunity to get acquainted with the story that their parents enjoyed in their youth. For parents, it's a great and pleasant opportunity to feel nostalgic.
