The Paris Trust Service resolves the problems of the humiliated and insulted during Christmas.

User Review

If someone tells you that the most dangerous job is being a journalist in a war zone, a stuntman, or a firefighter, you can laugh in their face and proudly say, “Ha! Nonsense.” The most dangerous job is on Christmas Eve, in Paris, on the top floor of a building, in a helpline office, answering calls from various unfortunate people. Not only do these wretched souls pour out their hearts to you in less than polite terms, but they may also show up in person to tell you more about their problem. And it should be noted that the characters can be quite something.

But how wonderfully it all began. On Christmas Eve, everyone in the office is looking forward to a wonderful holiday, looking forward to gifts and a delicious dinner. Even the shift that is forced to work that night does not complain, but on the contrary, decorates their workplace in every way possible and, with bated breath, gives each other gifts. Everything would have been perfect if it weren't for those calls, damn those unfortunate ones. But what kind of Christmas Eve, a time of fairy tales and miracles, would it be without little incidents?

They are still very small, just tiny. Well, can you really take getting stuck in an elevator, which gave up on the day shift employee, seriously as a big problem? Of course not. And what about the slightly broken finger of the colleague who freed her? Nonsense. And what about the strange pregnant vagrant who burst in, an acquaintance of one of the employees of this kind office? Without a doubt, no. And what about her partner chasing her with an axe in a Santa Claus costume? Well... maybe, but no, still not possible. This is a time of miracles, this is a miraculous axe, because Santa Claus brought it. And what about an unexpected encounter in a dark office, due to a power outage (it is a miraculous time, after all, how could there not be a small power outage), with a transvestite who asked to visit? Again, no. The transvestite is extremely kind, attractive, and has a big heart. And then, and then, more, more... But fate will also take the characters to... the zoo, yes, yes!

In short, if you want to see a wonderful, magnificent, crazy, funny, touching, real French comedy of manners. Watch this film, which may not be new, but has not lost its charm. After all, it was filmed during the heyday of the now popular veteran actors, who were then mischievous hooligans and starred together in a number of wonderful films.

Thierry Lhermitte, a star of French cinema, is a charming young man who plays Pierre Mortes, an office worker who is polite, cheeky, prejudiced, and caring in equal measure. He faces many trials that night, which he tries to overcome with dignity, to the best of his ability and optimism.

Anémone (Thérèse) is an actress who shone in the 80s and plays a reserved, kind-hearted, open, slightly maladjusted, eccentric lady.

Josiane Balasko (Madame Musquin) is an incomparable comedy actress who brilliantly plays her character, an experienced, skeptical lady who knows how to find a way out of even the most difficult situations, although the poor woman gets the full brunt of it.

Marie-Anne Chazel (Zézé) is another magnificent comedy actress who embodies her characters with such brilliance that it takes your breath away. Here she plays the very same vagrant, an illiterate, simple but sweet young lady in the last month of her pregnancy.

Gérard Jugnot (Félix) is the thug with an axe, cute, spontaneous, quick-tempered... a dismemberer of bodies. Intrigued? Ha!

And now for the best part, Christian Clavier (Katya) – a cute, attractive, sexy woman... Oh, sorry, a transvestite. I would never have thought that Christian could turn into such a stunningly fiery lady! She, oh my God, he, is so hot here that words cannot describe it! Watching him act is a pleasure. A cunning, ugh, cunning seducer with a vulnerable soul and a cheerful disposition.

I watched the whole movie in one breath, periodically sliding off my chair with laughter. Such unimaginably funny, and most importantly, believable comedies can only be seen in French cinema. There is no excessive exaggeration here, and the farce never crosses the line. You watch it and, through laughter and sometimes horror, you believe that yes, this could easily happen.

At one time, I stumbled upon this masterpiece, I'm not afraid to use that word, and now I am grateful to fate for that. I don't just recommend it, I strongly urge all film lovers to watch this film!
