Married to the Mob 4K 1988 Ultra HD 2160p
It all begins on Long Island, where homes are filled with expensive Mediterranean furniture, people wear expensive pinstriped suits, and women spend almost all their time at the hairdresser's. Angela DeMarco, wife of aspiring gangster Frank “The Cucumber” DeMarco, is tired of the criminal mentality of those around her and wants a change of scenery.
After Cucumber is caught with his mistress and killed by mafia boss Don Tony “Tiger” Russo, two FBI agents decide that Angela and Tony are having an affair. Angela moves with her son to a small apartment in Manhattan, but the agents continue to follow her, linking her activities to the dirty dealings of the mafia. Of course, at the right moment, passion flares up between Angela and agent Mike Downey.
User Review
Even if Michelle Pfeiffer just sat at the table for an hour and a half with nothing happening around her, it would still be a visual treat. The angelic Michelle, with a single glance, outshines the entire cast of Married to the Mafia. The only other notable actor besides Pfeiffer was Alec Baldwin, but his role was painfully small.
The plot is simple and straightforward: the wife of a gangster who falls victim to his boss moves from her country house to the slums, where she tries to start a new life, unaware that the FBI is watching her closely, suspecting her of involvement in her husband's murder. The viewer is then bombarded with a barrage of jokes, gags, etc. Unfortunately, not all of them hit the mark. Many are so silly and derivative that they are not funny at all, but rather depressing. However, thanks to Pfeiffer's amusing squinting eyes, radiating beauty and charm, this film, far from the best in her career, does a decent job of entertaining the viewer.
The soundtrack deserves a special mention—great songs from the 80s.
Overall, nothing special in terms of comedy, but Michelle is in the lead role.
