The film revolves around Latin American pop star Catalina Valdes, who catches her fiancé and stage partner Bastian cheating on her. Disillusioned with love and long-term relationships, the heroine decides to marry the first stranger who happens to be at her concert. As fate would have it, he turns out to be a cheerful math teacher named Charlie Gilbert.

User Review

There is a wonderful film from 1999 called Notting Hill, in which a movie star (Julia Roberts) falls in love with a modest bookstore owner (Hugh Grant). This film has everything: a romantic story, memorable soundtracks, chemistry between the characters. If you have time, be sure to watch this film, and you will understand how empty and uninteresting Marry Me is.

In fact, modern cinema scares me. I can't even remember the last time a movie really pleasantly surprised me. Marry Me was no exception in a bad way. It's a completely bland and forgettable film. It's even hard to call it a romance, because I didn't see any love in it.

Is it worth mentioning that J.Lo looks amazing at 52? I don't think so. She is beautiful. She has always been beautiful, but the films she starred in before were heartfelt and warm (Maid in Manhattan, Shall We Dance, etc.).

Marry Me, on the other hand, is a beautiful wrapper in the form of the actress's frequently changing elegant outfits with an empty component in the form of a complete lack of chemistry between her and Owen Wilson.

It's hard to call the plot here banal, because a banal plot isn't always bad, especially for a melodrama. We all want to watch a beautiful fairy tale with a happy ending sometimes. But this film doesn't make you cry or smile — nothing. And it's not that I'm heartless; I can give examples of hundreds of films about love that I adore, but Marry Me will definitely not be on that list.
