Innerspace 4K 1987 Ultra HD 2160p

American pilot Lieutenant Tak Pendleton takes part in an experiment in which he is to be drastically shrunk in size and, aboard a submarine-like craft, explore the interior of a rabbit. But techno-terrorists throw a wrench in the works and steal the syringe containing the miniaturized Tak.

By mistake, the contents of the syringe end up in the body of hypochondriac Jack Patter. Now the terrorists begin hunting for the unsuspecting Jack. The only one who can help him is Tak’s girlfriend, journalist Lydia…

A wonderful example of comedy-fantasy, which, by the way, won an Oscar. While the plot isn’t the most original (stories about shrinking are a pretty well-worn trope), this is more than made up for by the excellent acting and brilliant humor.

The acting is a topic unto itself. Dennis Quaid, Martin Short, and Meg Ryan are very famous actors. Moreover, they earned this fame not through cheap, scandalous PR, but because, no matter what role they played, they gave it their all to ensure the audience was absolutely convinced that they weren’t watching an actor just going through the motions for a paycheck, but a real person in an unusual and surreal situation.

For the generation of the ’70s and ’80s, this is one of those cult films that were watched in one sitting and whose plots were retold countless times to less fortunate friends. In general, those films—‘Alien,’ 'Rambo,‘ 'The Terminator,’ 'Star Wars,' and others—are not just movies; THEY ARE AN ERA!!!

For those who have seen *Inner Space*, I strongly recommend watching it again; for those who haven’t seen it yet—WATCH IT—and try to forget about the special effects in *Transformers*; they’re certainly more spectacular, but back then, movies were made about people first and foremost, and technology was merely a prop.
