Anyone But You 4K 2023 Ultra HD 2160p
Ben (Glen Powell) and Bee (Sydney Sweeney) meet by chance at a coffee shop; one thing leads to another, and their encounter turns into a date, which then turns into a night spent together. It would seem, what more could they need to be happy? At the worst possible moment, the main characters’ insecurities and prejudices get the better of them, and their sudden infatuation fades under the weight of their mounting fears. Six months later, Ben and Bee meet again, this time at a mutual friend’s wedding. There’s not a trace left of their former attraction; now they simply hate each other—and in the process, they ruin the festive atmosphere. In an attempt to save the event from disaster, the guests, friends, and even the protagonists’ parents decide to help them fall in love all over again.

Ben (Glenn Powell) and Bee (Sydney Sweeney), a couple of self-centered individuals, do their best to ruin the wedding they’ve been invited to with their constant bickering.
When yet another Hollywood rom-com needs a plot, filmmakers instantly turn to the ultimate classic—Shakespeare’s prose. Here’s the latest film from the once-promising Will Gluck (“Easy A”), which doesn’t hesitate to borrow heavily from the poet—the movie is loosely based on the play “Much Ado About Nothing,” and in the first 10 minutes, amid the intermittent on-screen text that “speaks” to the audience (to jump ahead, this is the only interesting idea here), a quote from “Romeo and Juliet” floats in: “Much is here out of hate, but more out of love.” Unfortunately, that’s all there is.
What looked like a hit on paper turned out to be a disaster on screen. This situational comedy about a couple who hate each other but pretend to love one another—until their pretense inevitably leads to True Feelings—quickly devolves into an unfunny brawl between two extremely unpleasant characters—their initial conflict is contrived, their interaction lacks “chemistry,” and the jokes are simply not funny.
Sweeney and Powell look like the two most beautiful and slender people in the world—the director’s camera constantly traces their toned, tanned bodies with a lustful gaze, and it seems like most of the film’s budget was spent on clothes and swimsuits. But this is just superficial glitz, where the characters were given superficial “flaws” instead of real personalities (Sweeney is sometimes clumsy, and Powell is a poor swimmer), which did nothing to make them more human or relatable to the audience.
There are no funny sketches in the spirit of Garry Marshall (“Pretty Woman”), no warm heartfelt moments à la Cameron Crowe (“Jerry Maguire”), and no biting deconstruction of the genre à la Mark Webb (“500 Days of Summer”). The obvious charm of Sweeney and Powell is clearly not enough to bring even a hint of romance or comedy to this glamorous dud.
