I don't know why this happens, but the genres listed in the film's synopsis rarely match reality. One is there, another is missing, and the third is so distorted that you can't tell where the horns are and where the tail is. But there are exceptions, and Fear's Power is one of them.

It's a detective story, where the killer remains unknown until the very end, and it's a horror story, where the chilling actions are not shown explicitly, like minced meat from a meat grinder, but only hinted at... outlined, but so vividly and vividly that you can't help but imagine it, and even worse than it is. It is also a thriller, twisted and confusing beyond praise. But the main thing, at least for me, is that it is a drama. The drama of a man, no, a Man, who, on the very edge separating life from death, does not give up, does not give in, continues to fight no matter what.

Completely paralyzed Lincoln Rhyme, who can only move his finger and neck, and the young but inexperienced Amelia Donahue must catch a maniac who has been terrorizing the population of the Big Apple for months. Not only does the psychopath kill his victims in very cruel ways, but he also leaves messages nearby that only the expert criminologist Rhyme can decipher. But Rhyme doesn't have much time. The seizures that began after his paralysis are becoming more frequent, and one of them could burn his brain, turning him into a “vegetable.”

This is the story of a strong man who continues to fight even when it seems that all is lost, even when pain, fatigue, and hopelessness demand that he give in... rest... die.
