Violet Evergarden: The Movie 4K 2020 Ultra HD 2160p
Years after the war, Violet Evergarden a former “weapon doll” with prosthetic arms works as a “memory doll,” helping people express their feelings through letters. She has never been able to let go of Major Gilbert, the only person who ever told her “I love you,” and now, with the possibility that he is alive, Violet is once again confronted with a past she cannot leave behind. At the same time, the story of a seriously ill boy who dreams of writing a letter to the future adds genuine human warmth and pain to the film.
User Review
This is a slow paced, deeply sentimental drama that captivates not with plot twists, but with Kyoto Animation’s visual magic the light, the water, the facial expressions, the textures; every frame looks like a painting. The film deliberately tugs at the heartstrings in places and may seem overly melodramatic to those unfamiliar with the series, but for fans, it is the perfect, beautiful, and emotionally honest conclusion to Violet’s journey. Technically, the UHD release captures this beauty perfectly: HDR10 and Dolby Vision reveal the full depth of the color palette, while TrueHD 7.1 with Atmos adds depth to Evan Call’s soundtrack, which is in itself a reason to watch the film. 8/10 a masterpiece of animation and emotional sincerity.
