A weather news anchor begins experiencing strange behaviors and discovers she can suddenly speak various dialects--including what appears to be an alien language. At the same time, a mysterious man with an unknown past comes into possession of stolen government evidence proving the existence of extraterrestrial life and is determined to make it public. For reasons neither fully understands, the two are drawn together. If they can navigate government agents, suspicious spouses, and others trying to stop them, they may reveal a truth that could change humanity forever.

User Review

We honestly gave the movie a chance. What’s more, we actually really liked it for the first 40–50 minutes. It felt like we were in for some powerful sci-fi in the vein of *Arrival*: mystery, intrigue, and the sense of a grand idea. And then the endless running around begins. Everyone’s driving somewhere. Then they’re driving again. Then they’re running. Then they’re driving again. Then some people show up in black SUVs with flashing lights. Then it’s another chase. And you get the feeling that the movie is just dragging things out until the end. Plus, the logic starts to fall apart right before your eyes.

For example, the entire movie is built around the idea that humanity needs to be told the truth about the aliens. And for some reason, the main way to do this turns out to be a live TV broadcast. Seriously? In 2026? When some accounts on X already have a larger audience than CNN? Let’s say tomorrow all the TV channels air archival footage showing that the government has been hiding the existence of aliens for decades. What will change? Nothing at all. Half the people will say, “It’s a deepfake.” The other half will say, “It’s propaganda.” A third group will just say, “Oh, those liberals/conservatives have come up with something again.” In a couple of hours, everyone will be discussing the next news story.

And that’s when things get really interesting. For some reason, the film assumes that humanity should unite after this. But to do what? If humanity is told that, many years ago, aliens were studied and experimented on in a secret laboratory, what exactly is an ordinary person supposed to do? Go out and protest? Demand the resignation of the current government, which might not have had anything to do with those events at all? Start a movement to defend the aliens’ rights? After all, the aliens aren’t enemies. They don’t attack, they don’t make any demands, and they aren’t trying to take over Earth. So why should people unite? And why did the aliens themselves need all this in the first place? Why did they wait for decades, only to activate their “chosen ones” right now? What exactly happened right now? And most importantly—what did they ultimately want to achieve? The film never provides answers to any of these questions.

At the same time, the characters themselves do some absolutely bizarre things. For half the movie, they risk their lives for Jane, save her, and mount an entire operation… And then they just… forget about her. Seriously. She literally disappears from the movie. It’s as if the screenwriters themselves forgot they had another important character.

The secret service agents are a whole other level of absurdity. They’re always speeding around in identical black SUVs with flashing lights and always show up just in time for the final showdown.

It seems to me that this movie was doomed to fail right from the script stage. If the story doesn’t have a clear answer to the question “Why is all this happening in the first place?”, then no car chases or special effects can save it.
