Creepshow 2 4K 1987 Ultra HD 2160p

Like the previous Creepshow, the second consists of several creepy but humorous short stories. In the first, “Old Chief Wood-Nhed,” you will see a double murder. An Indian comes back to life and climbs out of his grave to take revenge for everything. In the second, George Kennedy and Dorothy Lamour play helpless victims during a robbery. The short story “The Raft” tells the story of four teenage friends who are trapped on a platform in the middle of a small lake. They are devoured by something that looks like a tarpaulin smeared with something black. The Hitchhiker tells the story of how, at night, a rich girl named Lois Chiles hits a guy who was hitchhiking on the road, and he then chases her, covered in blood, very briskly for a dead man.
Michael Gornick worked extensively as a cinematographer for Romero, but here he acts as director, filming from Romero's script.

User Review

The second part of the Creepshow trilogy is a mixture of black irony, drama, hysteria, the supernatural, animation, and female breasts. It consists of three novellas:

- The Old Wooden Chief: about the revenge of a statue on three misfits with incredible ambitions;

- The Raft: about a group of young people who foolishly end up on a raft in the middle of a forest lake, where death awaits them (a film adaptation of Stephen King's short story of the same name);

- The Hitchhiker: about a woman who experienced six orgasms while visiting her lover and hit, so to speak, a ‘bulletproof’ passerby who turned out to be a maniac.

Since this is a positive review, I will first focus on the cons of Creepshow 2:

- The main character from The Hitchhiker, who talked to herself endlessly and analyzed her every action, was extremely annoying;

- Sometimes some of the actors were wooden in their performances, but that can be forgiven;

- It is unlikely that this creation can be shown to children, despite the hint of a specific target audience: there is fear, corpses, blood, dead bodies, and displays of caresses and kisses, along with exposed female breasts and the heroine from “The Traveler” raving about the notorious six orgasms. That is why the MPAA rating is: ‘Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult’, who will vainly repeat to the teenager: ‘Close your eyes!’, while watching the ‘bad’ scenes himself, munching on popcorn. In that case, why did they make animated inserts “for boys and girls”? They could have simply combined these three short films or even divided them, but without hinting that Creepshow 2 is a lullaby for the night.

Okay, we've dealt with the flaws, now let's move on to the enthusiastic ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ that remained after watching:

- Good acting overall;

- Stephen King's excellent cameo in “The Hitchhiker” — the great writer is once again inimitable as an actor;

- The plots are much better and more suspenseful than in the first Creepshow;

- The makeup of the dead man from the third story leaves much to be desired;

- The roles are cast with taste and professionalism;

- And the film itself is a great way to brighten up a boring rainy evening.
