A Cat in the Brain 4K 1990 Ultra HD 2160p
Dr. Lucio Fulci is a director of splatter films. He stages a gestapo-orgy like it was any other movie scene. But he is influenced by these things more than he likes. He is hunted by bloody visions day by day. Is Fulci still normal? He asks a psychiatrist. He doesn't know that the psychiatrist has much bigger problems than Fulci himself. The psychiatrist then uses Fulci's visions for brutal murders in real life as an attempt to frame him.
User Review
Italian horror director Lucio Fulci suddenly began to notice certain oddities in his life. He was plagued by terrifying visions and dreams, so, to avoid further incidents, he turned to a professional psychologist.
The 1990 film “A Cat in the Brain” is one of the final directorial works by the iconic Italian filmmaker Lucio Fulci. In terms of its structure and style, “A Cat in the Brain” is more like a unique retrospective of Lucio Fulci’s body of work, told in a highly ironic style laced with dark humor. Essentially, the film allows the viewer to experience what it’s like to be Lucio Fulci, to get a behind-the-scenes look at his directing process, and to understand the techniques of terror that Fulci employed in his films—many of whose most striking scenes are showcased in “A Cat in the Brain.” In fact, ‘A Cat in the Brain’ is essentially the director himself playing to the audience, viewing his film career in a highly amusing light and making no attempt to come across as a serious figure in the world of cinema—some sort of patriarch—and, incidentally, Lucio Fulci playing himself in this film is quite fascinating.
Of course, this film is completely devoid of any plot and is aimed primarily at connoisseurs of the Italian trash filmmaker’s work, since the abundance of clips from the director’s past films will leave most viewers with mixed feelings, but if you’re madly in love with the Italian horror genre—and especially the work of one of its most bloodthirsty masters, the great and terrible Lucio Fulci—then you simply can’t afford to miss “A Cat in the Brain.”
