I Know What You Did Last Summer 4K 2025 Ultra HD 2160p
Almost 30 years have passed, and another group of reckless friends has appeared in Southport, who went to watch the fireworks on a sharp bend in the serpentine road. And yet there was one sober driver, even though they had been celebrating the engagement of golden boy Teddy (Tyric Leshon Withers) and Miss Perfect Danika (Madeline Klein) all day long. Former lovers—the clever Ava (Chase Siou Warner) and the silent Milo (John Howar-King)—can't decide whether to get back together or break up again, while outsider Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon) got into the car by accident—she and her classmates had long since gone their separate ways. Once again, the recklessness of youth and a series of coincidences lead to a fatal sacrifice. A blood pact is made and further reinforced by bureaucratic assistance: Teddy's father, the mayor (Billy Campbell), ensures that the children are not punished for their carelessness. Of course, a year later, that very letter was found in an envelope: “I know what you did last summer.”

The revival or ‘resurrection’ of old franchises is in full swing. The new Final Destination has just been released, and now it's the turn of I Know What You Did Last Summer. The original film was released in 1997, with the sequel following in 1998. I recommend watching them before seeing the new film, at least briefly, as some things in the new film may be difficult to understand otherwise. You can skip the 2006 film with a similar title and the TV series.
I'll say right away that if anyone was waiting for the film because of Nicolas Chavez from the series Monsters or Lola Tang from I Got Better This Summer, they won't be in it. Apparently, they were really cut out, or maybe it was just a marketing campaign. But I'm not sure where they could have been squeezed into the plot and who they could have played. The only media personalities are Madeline Kline from The Outer Banks and the main characters from the previous parts, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
The plot is almost identical to the first film. A group of young friends on the road in a fishing town get into an accident involving a car and decide to keep quiet, but a year later they begin to be persecuted and their lives are threatened.
The picture is pleasant, the actors play well, not brilliantly, but acceptably. Perhaps the main characters will not even annoy you as in many similar films, but compared to the first cast, some may be disappointed. But most importantly, the scenes of violence are really well done and not as animated as in the new Point.
There is plenty of blood, but some will guess who the killer is, while for others it will be too obvious. Personally, I guessed right away, although that doesn't happen often. There are also plot twists, and it looks quite dynamic.
For fans of the franchise: Helen Shivers gets enough attention, but for some reason Barry is hardly mentioned. Yes, he hasn't been forgotten, but he seems to be overlooked compared to Helen. There are quite a few old main characters, and they seem to be playing at half strength, but they will surprise you.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending and the fact that one of the storylines literally contradicted the previous films. Yes, the storyline is logical in principle, but still. If you've seen the previous parts and watch this one, you'll probably understand what I mean.
I definitely recommend watching it, especially if you just want to see a good slasher movie, but those who loved the franchise may have mixed feelings.
