The Blood of Heroes 4K 1989 Ultra HD 2160p
A post-apocalyptic world provides the backdrop for a brutal, futuristic game resembling football. Rutger Hauer plays a disgraced former star leading a ragtag group of "Juggers" to one of the remaining Nine Cities for glory and redemption.
User Review
It seemed to me that the main idea of the film is not about the post-apocalyptic world in which the events take place, but rather about the spirit of sportsmanship. It shows that in the pursuit of a goal, success is achieved not by those who build big muscles or make the scariest grimaces, but by those who truly strive for it.
The plot develops calmly and smoothly, the sets and costumes are not bad, and the acting is outstanding. Of course, Rutger Hauer, without whom there would be no film at all, is bold, fearless, and yet a morally responsible character (Yellow). And the most surprising performance, in my opinion, is that of Flea (Dog), who is very candid, despite quickly exiting the plot.
The meaning of the film is probably best summed up in the very last line: “Play hard, and you'll forget your fear.”
In short, “It's not the big, scary, tusk-adorned one that wins, but the small, evil, and reckless one.”
