King Kong vs. Godzilla 4K 1962 Ultra HD 2160p
Storyline
Original Japanese version. Tako, advertising director of Pacific Pharmaceuticals, is frustrated by the low viewership of their sponsored documentary show and realizes that he needs a more sensationalist approach. He orders two of his men, Sakurai and Furue, on an expedition to Faro Island to investigate a legendary monster called King Kong and exploit it for advertising. Just as the expedition is underway, Godzilla emerges from an iceberg and sets his sights towards Japan, sparking a media frenzy that steals publicity away from Tako's own monster. As Kong is captured and hauled back to Japan, people begin to wonder which monster is stronger and capable of beating the other. Tako realizes the marketability of King Kong facing off against Godzilla as the two monsters are pitted against each other in the biggest wrestling match of all time.

Now about the movie “King Kong vs. Godzilla.” Before watching it, I was very excited because it was the first Godzilla movie I had ever seen in its entirety! And I think that when this movie was released in Japan in 1962, everyone was just as excited. Of course! The battle between King Kong and Godzilla, and in color! Yes, this is the first color film about both characters and the third film featuring them.
I'm sure everyone has seen this film, and more than once, so they are familiar with the plot. King Kong vs. Godzilla is the funniest film about both King Kong and Godzilla. Even compared to films such as Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and Godzilla vs. Hedorah, it looks ridiculous. After I watched it for the first time, I wondered: what was that? But everything became clear as soon as I learned that the film was intended for children. After the first two very dark films with Godzilla, this one was supposed to cheer up the audience, which it did and still does. That's why my eyes widen when I read on some websites that someone considers King Kong vs. Godzilla to be a horror movie. No, no, and no! It's an adventure comedy, nothing more.
It should be noted that in addition to King Kong and Godzilla, another monster appeared in this film — a giant octopus, which had previously appeared in the very impressive American film It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955). This octopus later appeared in two more Japanese films in a supporting role.
King Kong vs. Godzilla evokes positive emotions, but it is still too naive.
