The Stunt Man 4K 1980 Ultra HD 2160p
Cameron, a Vietnam War veteran, is wanted by the police for injuring a patrolman who tried to stop him when Cameron, having decided to kill his business partner who had cheated him, broke into the latter's store in the middle of the night. This is revealed later. He tells this to Nina Franklin, the lead actress in the film in which the main action of the picture takes place, when she asks Cameron why the police are after him. The unfortunate patrolman lost consciousness after a collision with a Vietnam veteran and lay all night with a box of ice cream on his head. As a result, he frostbitten his nose and ear, for which the veteran may be charged with assaulting a police officer in the line of duty.
User Review
The film begins with a completely mind-boggling chase scene. The reason why the main character is being chased is completely unclear, but one thing is certain—his life is constantly stressful. Only his participation in a strange film as a stuntman and his introduction to this difficult profession help him find new direction. But we digress—the chase continues, as do suspicions of murder. However, the viewer does not have to think too much about whether our hero is good or bad. The focus will be on completely different mysteries, because the director of the film is so ambiguous. He's a real maniac. And a nice guy, too. Peter O'Toole played the part wonderfully; it couldn't have been any other way. The film ends with these reflections. And then you can think about what it was: a tribute to His Majesty Mr. Cinema, an action film about maniacs, or a funny comedy. I've seen the film several times, and I still can't give a definite answer. That's the unique charm of this film.
The charming O'Toole (apparently he was perfect for action films), the optimistic ending, the cheerful motifs - all this makes the film perhaps a little lightweight, but incredibly watchable. In my opinion, if the plot had been a little more twisted and conceptually sharp, the film could have been a masterpiece.
