House 4K 1985 Ultra HD 2160p
What an absolutely amazing movie! I’d be willing to sit through a dozen mediocre films just to find something like this. It’s for movies like this that I watch films—and that’s why I love them.
‘House’ is a wonderful adventure horror film that, with the exception of a couple of moments, I wholeheartedly recommend for family viewing. Because, watching what was happening on screen, I desperately wanted to be a 12-year-old kid again so that the emotions I felt while watching would be even stronger.
I felt like a kid again, thrilled as if I’d been given a huge, delicious piece of candy, and scared of those funny monsters. Of course, they’re funny—it is 1985, after all, and the makeup isn’t perfect—but that’s exactly what’s needed. It’s part of that incredible atmosphere of films from the ’80s and ’90s.
I’m incredibly grateful to the creators of this masterpiece. They managed to blend the film’s various worlds so harmoniously that for the last half-hour, I sat with my mouth wide open, watching intently and applauding silently. I applauded the filmmakers’ incredibly expansive thinking, their boundless imagination, the brilliant plot, and the excellent musical score. At times, watching it gave me food for thought—allusions to both Raimi’s work and Argento’s films. But having finished it, I can confidently say that this film is unique. Steve Miner is a genius here, and I, to my great shame, am not really familiar with his work. I need to remedy this immediately: I’m going to rush out and watch his other films. And you should watch "House" if you haven’t seen it yet...
