The Family Man 4K 2000 Ultra HD 2160p

Which would you prefer: to be the president of a major investment firm, live in a luxurious apartment with a billion-dollar view, cruise around in the latest Ferrari, and remain a bachelor—or work as a tire salesman at “Big Ed’s,” buying clothes at the supermarket and getting around your hometown suburbs in a spacious, not-too-old minivan? Don’t rush to answer, because it’s no coincidence that fate—in the form of a “high” Black Santa Claus—is giving Jack the chance to try both options. And believe me, despite the abundance of comical situations that are now an integral part of his life, Jack faces a difficult choice.

In this movie, the main character, played by Nicolas Cage, faces a serious choice around Christmas—whether to remain a powerful, famous, and wealthy but lonely company president, or to turn back time and become a family man with a loving wife, two beautiful children, a mortgage, and a not-so-well-paying job at a tire company.

The film was released twenty-five years ago, and it’s quite likely that nowadays, plots involving Christmas miracles, twists of fate, angels, or something along those lines—all coming to give the characters a second chance—seem far from original and quite predictable. We’ve probably seen this kind of thing hundreds of times already. However, the film is filled with a unique, very pleasant, and heartwarming vibe that is so characteristic of romantic films from those years.

The film makes you reflect on life’s values, the importance of family, and human relationships in general. But, no matter how you look at it, the film’s ending is endlessly predictable. Then again, it’s quite possible that at the beginning of the 21st century, when this film was released, the ending might have surprised some people, but now you can see it coming about twenty minutes into the film, once you figure out what’s going on.

It’s a decent New Year’s fairy tale that can entertain with its gentle humor, delight with the actors’ sincere performances, and perhaps help you recall and reflect on the twists and turns of your own life story.
