A woman arrives at a restaurant for a date. Soon after, an unknown visitor begins to attack her with anonymous photographs.

Western filmmakers have an inexhaustible imagination. They have consistently produced thrillers and horror films that have generated fears of television, landline phones, trucks carrying logs, clowns, spiders, and a variety of other things. After the joint project between Universal, BlumHouse, and Platinum Dunes, now we have to fear Tinder and similar dating apps. Why not? You go on a date, and your companion at the table is acting suspiciously. She keeps looking around, constantly glancing at her phone screen, trying hard to pretend that everything is fine. Thanks to the efforts of the screenwriters and the talented director Christopher Landon, what seems like an innocent story about a date in a luxurious restaurant is transformed with a slight movement of the camera... Transformed... Transformed into a date... Into a thriller that is half or completely unrealistic.

But what a damn entertaining and suspenseful new release viewers got! The filmmakers followed in the footsteps of Agatha Christie: in a confined space, everyone is under suspicion. They quickly show you who to pay attention to in the restaurant on some floor above the twentieth or thirtieth. Then they will start luring you into a trap so that you believe that this person is definitely a bad guy. Somewhere along the way, they will sow doubts. And in the end, they will tear your guesses to shreds or pleasantly envelop them to charm/disappoint you. We don't think there is a third option. Next time, you will think carefully about whether it is worth rushing into live communication. Maybe it is worth loving correspondence and giving the person time to open up a little in conversation, so that you don't get caught out later (that is, find yourself in an unfavorable, unpleasant position due to your own negligence). It is worth remembering this.

You're bound to have various questions when you watch what's happening. There's the mysterious stranger's ability to observe a woman in distress almost everywhere, although given the capabilities of modern technology, this is not surprising. And the climax of the scenario, when the game of checkers finally ends. And the incomprehensible mood of the person on the other end of the phone, who either writes incessantly, throws out memes, and controls every word, or gives the woman in distress and her companion at the table plenty of time to talk heart to heart, even to the point of tears. Nevertheless, it's interesting to play this game to figure out the radish, but the most attentive Sherlock Holmeses will easily figure out the person who will stubbornly ruin the date for the woman, a former victim of abuse. What gender is the person? Yeah, they shared that. Ruining the viewing experience is clearly not our style.

Finally, the film is an excuse to stare at Brandon Sklenar. He's such a cute charmer. Why do we all like him? Because there are active rumors that this actor will become the new Batman in Gunnvers. And here we have a whole new film by Christopher Landon as an advertisement. This somewhat exaggerated and embellished “Drop” shows how unpredictable online dating can be. It can either drive you crazy, dispel loneliness, or make you worry about your safety. Social media and technology can have a significant impact on your mental health, so it's best to be cautious when advertisements and word of mouth present Tinder and everything else as something truly useful in life. In short, Christopher Landon has made a new film, and it's definitely not better than the unrealistically cool Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U.
