Unlawful Entry 4K 1992 Ultra HD 2160p
Karen and Michael Carr live a quiet, peaceful life together with their beloved fluffy cat, minding their own business. Their home is elegant, and the neighborhood is quiet. At least, that’s what the Carrs were told when they bought the mansion. One night, a burly burglar broke into the house, and Michael had to defend his wife and home with a golf club. Fortunately, the criminal fled without harming Karen or Michael. The couple called the police. That’s how Los Angeles Police Department Officer Pete Davis ended up in their home. It was the first time—but by no means the last… He showed up to turn the Carrs’ quiet, peaceful life into a never-ending, absolute nightmare… What can a person who wields real power—and who, moreover, embodies the law—do if he wants to destroy an ordinary citizen who doesn’t like guns and sometimes doesn’t even fully understand his own rights? Absolutely anything! And what can an ordinary citizen do to counter violence from a representative of the authorities? Nothing, except to resist personally…

I've always loved movies that don't have an overly convoluted plot but still deliver the right amount of suspense. "Unlawful Entry" is exactly one of those. It becomes clear as early as the 10-minute mark what will happen next and how the movie will end. But how the main villain will wriggle his way out of things and just how much trouble he'll manage to cause—that's pretty interesting. Ray Liotta did an excellent job playing the psychopath. His character turned out to be truly terrifying and unusual. Not to mention that, given all the circumstances, he’s actually quite sharp and behaves quite logically.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Kurt Russell’s character. His logic is understandable, but his actual behavior clashes sharply with his motivations. I get that the writers intentionally made him an ordinary citizen rather than a hero, but at times he comes across as genuinely foolish and clumsy.
The plot is quite dynamic and never gets boring. There’s always something happening on screen, and the tension builds with every passing second.
This is an excellent thriller, perfect for an evening viewing. The two hours fly by in a flash.
