Once upon a time, the Hong Kong mafia brutally and mercilessly killed the parents of twin brothers Chad and Alex, who miraculously managed to escape during a bloody shootout. When I first heard about this film, I was delighted, surprised, and excited: ‘There will be two Jean-Clauds in the frame! Well, I'll definitely watch it, of course — two twin brothers who look so much alike.’ And indeed, Double Impact is not so much an action movie as it is a comedy, constantly lightening the mood and steering the heated atmosphere, tension, and unpredictability of events in the right direction. Two brothers, similar in appearance but actually different in soul and mind, will give the mafia and bad guys a run for their money!

In this film, in my opinion, Van Damme shows the viewer his art of transformation and his ability to get into character in the best possible way. However, while many actors spend a long time reading the script in order to understand the essence, character, behavior, and lifestyle of their screen hero, Jean-Claude faced a double problem here: he had to try to portray two completely opposite personalities on screen, and on top of that, without repeating or duplicating himself, reveal the personality of each character, showing that segment, that part of life that the film covers. Jean-Claude approached this problem in the most successful and clever way, and he managed to play two twin brothers at once, so successfully that many uninformed viewers subsequently wondered and agonized over the question: does Van Damme have a twin brother?

Yes, truly, talented acting, a brilliant idea, and a wonderful plot, which together form a well-thought-out, mesmerizing, and intriguing film called ‘Double Impact’. Since childhood, I simply adored this film and never missed it, and if it was shown on TV, I would definitely grab the remote and turn on this familiar film, known down to the smallest detail, which I wanted to watch and rewatch I wanted to watch it over and over again, each time admiring, rejoicing, and observing such a rapid turn of events, trying to keep track of them without getting distracted and afraid to even blink, so as not to miss a second of such a wonderful cinematic creation.

Finally, if you delve into it, feel it, and try to realize that the characters, events, and the situation itself are so realistic that they could happen in our lives, in everyday reality.
