As always, Romero shows us not only humanity’s struggle for survival amidst a horde of the living dead, but also drives home the central message: just what a bastard—excuse my language—a person can be! Especially in a crisis.
Not only do we see more conflict between people themselves than between people and the dead throughout the film, but the director has also managed to make the audience sympathize with the bloodthirsty corpses!
