Mothra vs. Godzilla 1964
For many years, the inhabitants of a radiation-contaminated island in the Pacific Ocean worshipped their deity—the giant butterfly Motra—and, along with her, her enormous egg, from which a new Motra was eventually supposed to hatch. This continued until a typhoon struck the island, washing the precious egg out to sea and washing it ashore in Japan, where it was fished out by a group of fishermen. Accompanied by her two guardian fairies, Mothra appealed to the people to return the egg, but her request was denied: the find had already fallen into the hands of a major corporation, which had decided to turn the egg into a profitable tourist attraction. However, when Godzilla began terrorizing the country once again, the people had no choice but to admit their mistake and ask Motra for protection.
